 About Swim Savvy

We are an aquatic swim lesson company located in Greenville, SC.

Swimming is not just about comfort in the water. By providing your child with the skills they need to be a strong swimmer and safely enjoy the water, they will not only SURVIVE, they will THRIVE.

Why Swim Savvy?

At Swim Savvy, we place your child in lessons based on age.  We strive to meet each child where they are in the water and advance through skills according to their own needs and development.  Each child will begin in the program learning basic survival skills.  Infants to 3 year olds will have more survival training.  Children four and above will learn basic survival skills and then progress.

SWIM & SURVIVAL

Infant - 3 Years

There are 3 milestones within our Swim & Survival program. While these milestones are met in succession, we base “graduation” on each child’s individual level of skill mastery, rather than age. As each child is different, so is their comfortability in the water and the rate at which they grasp each skill. While we encourage students to strive for their best, we also work with them at their specific level of readiness.

Infants to 3 years old will learn and progress through a broad range of survival skills. After these skills are mastered, they learn forward motion in the water.

SWIM PROGRAM

Ages 4 & Up

Our SWIM program is designed for children ages 4 and up. With our central focus always being on safety, this course additionally teaches students proper stroke mechanics. Completion of this program will prepare your child for joining a swim team, or to simply enjoy advanced recreational swimming.

Children 4 and above will learn basic survival skills first.  After those skills are mastered, we begin forward motion in the water.

The Parent Role

Although parents do not participate in any of our lessons, we encourage all to work on fun, interactive skills at home in the tub to further along water comfortability and skill building. Instructors will discuss progress and answer any questions after each lesson.

Communication

Children do not need to be able to speak in order to communicate. As our team has a firm understanding of child behavior and development, we build trusting relationships, and work with each child at their individual level of readiness.

It’s also very normal for children with limited communication skills to communicate through tears. We understand and are well-prepared for this and will work with your child to help them become comfortable with us and the water. We promise we can handle it! Patience and encouragement, both from our team and from home, are important for helping children to feel most at ease.

I used to think poké was another word for salad. Now, I know it is SO MUCH MORE. Delicious

The only poké I've found in the downtown area that uses only sustainable suppliers.
